Insurance

I am an in-network provider with Blue Cross & Blue Shield. Co-pays range from $5 to the full contract fee I have with your company. Please contact your insurance company directly to inquire on your policy’s co-pay amount. All co-pays are due upon time of service. You may pay with cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover Card, HSAs, or FSAs.

If you have insurance through a different provider you may have out-of-network psychotherapy benefits. Call your insurance company to ask what your benefits for out-of-network mental health services are are, including number of sessions, your reimbursement rate, and mailing address. In this format, you pay me my full rate directly, I provide you with a monthly Superbill which you would then submit to your company, and this would reimburse your expenses paid to me.

GROUP WORK

I facilitate workshops and ongoing groups for organizations in the Asheville area. Psychodrama and process groups are my specialties. I view teaching as a form of group work. I have taught several graduate level counseling courses as an adjunct professor for Lenoir-Rhyne University including Group Methods and The Creative Process in Expressive Arts Therapy.

Counseling Services

I love helping people improve their relationships, explore & clarify life direction & purpose, develop healthier habits, and process grief & trauma. I also provide psychedelic integration work for people who responsibly engage with altered states of consciousness work outside of session.

My approach to therapy is grounded in working with present moment awareness and your direct perceived experience. Sometimes I use experiential approaches from Gestalt Therapy and Expressive Arts Therapy. I also incorporate esoteric knowledge frameworks into psychotherapy influenced by the work of Carl Jung, which includes fluency in the languages of both astrology and tarot.

Engaging your therapeutic process between sessions is valuable, and your work may be supported through journal assignments, in-the-moment awareness development, reading a relevant book, letter writing, having important conversations, spending time in nature, and beyond. The work you do outside of session will help both in our work together in session and in your day to day life.

How Often & How Long do we Meet?

After an initial 75 minute intake session, most clients meet for one fifty three minute session weekly. Sometimes people may find they need to meet twice weekly during really tough times. Many people meet every other week once they've achieved their initial goals for beginning therapy. The length of our working relationship may vary, from a few sessions to a few weeks to a few years. Once our work together feels complete, or progress is no longer being made, we will conclude our work together.

Outdoor Sessions

As a seasoned wilderness therapist I take great joy in working outdoors. I see clients at locations in Weaverville and Swannanoa, North Carolina. While there is no way to ensure 100% confidentiality in any context, clients find that in these contexts their risk of being seen going to therapy is the same level as being seen in a parking lot or waiting room of an office.

Do you see People over Telehealth?

I offer a limited number of telehealth slots. Please inquire for me details.
